Highest Scored Silver Oak In a Decade Plus...
It has been well over a decade since I have seen a score of 94 points for Silver Oak Alexander Valley from any major publication.
The last time was the 1995 vintage in the Wine Advocate. In fact the highest rating on Wine Spectator's website for the Alexander Valley Cabernet is only 92 points.
So when I opened the Wine & Spirits new issue today I was floored to see in the “Year's Best Cabernet Sauvignon” section in at number three the 2008 Silver Oak Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon at 94 points!!!
Then I read the review and was impressed once again:
• Like a savory claret
• Supple richness of tannins lends it textural finesse
• The quality of Silver Oak that may be most responsible for it legend.
• This will age with grace
This is what we have all come to expect out of Silver Oak and it is great to see that the quality of these great vineyards are still delivering today! The 2007 was a huge hit but clearly since the 2005 vintage things at Silver Oak have been on the rise and now the silver is really bright and shiny.
Here's the silver lining in today's offer this wine arrives to our warehouse on Monday making it available to shipping in time for the holidays.
Reserve your case, cases today and enjoy the 2008 Silver Oak Alexander Valley these holidays with friends and family.
