The Great Granges: This is No Aussie!
Granges des Peres is one of those great "insider" wines of France. A combination of Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon, this wine brings together Rhone and Bordeaux sensabilities in the very cool micro-climate of l'Herault within Languedoc. However the insider secret these days has been slowly creeping out. Yes we have done our share to sing the praise of Granges des Peres but so have legendary importers Kermit Lynch and Daniel Johnnes.
Granges des Peres is one of those wines that constantly captivates one and confuses them. It is ever changing. One day it can seem like Bordeaux, the next it tastes like Hermitage. With time in the glass and/or decanter, this wine evolves into something truly unique and special. One of the most compelling wines of the Languedoc, this is a great addition to ones cellar.
