They're Finally Here!
Not One, but TWO Amazing Reds from Macedonia that Robert Parker has personally flipped for!
Featured on page 32 of our Fall Gazette, we have the entire page dedicated to these two wines from Macedonia that are made by Tikves.
We mention in the Gazette that we have been hearing about these wines for a few years now. In September of last year, Robert Parker posted on the ebulletin board on erobertparker.com some initial thoughts and reviews on the wines. Giving the Bela Voda 2010 a whopping 94 point score in the post. Then, this summer, he followed things up with an amazing 90 point review for the $9.50 Vranec Special Selection. These are great wines, from a very historic and old wine producing region. One that we are happy to see is getting revitalized and finally garnering the attention that it fully well deserves.
As Robert Parker might say kudos to Tikves Winery and consultant Philippe Cambie for turning out two extreme values worth seeking out.
PS: Check out our Gazette for more details. And if the Vranec is "Zinfandel" like, as Robert Parker says, then maybe, just maybe this could be your perfect Thanksgiving day wine.
