92pt Bordeaux for under $20!!!
As Fall approaches more and more of our highly praised 2009 Bordeaux are coming in from overseas!
Arriving to our warehouses on Tuesday, is Chantegrive (Graves) 2009. Already dubbed a sleeper of the vintage by Robert Parker (90WA), it was no surprise that James Suckling followed suit with a 92pt rating just yesterday:
Never heard of them? Well, Chantegrive is a tiny estate tucked into the Left Bank of the Garrone River that has been flying under the radar for years! It's truly the perfect combination of a legendary vintage and a top-notch consultant, Hubert de Bouard, of acclaimed Chateau Angelus, that has catapulted Chantegrive into the spotlight.
We tasted this wine en premier and knew that it would be something really special, so we scooped up a major chunk and can offer it to you now at just $19.99/btl. This is a ridiculous value given the success of 2009 vintage and already two 90+ point reviews. If you're looking for a great every day wine that also has the staying power of the 2009 vintage, this is one of the best bang for your buck wines out of Bordeaux, which is not the general public perception these days. But as a long time Bordeaux buyer from Zachys you have heard us time and time again praise landmark vintages like the 2009 vintage as turning out exceptional values left and right. Considering Robert Parker is calling 2009 the greatest vintage in his lifetime, the bounty of the vintage is plentiful all around.
Chantegrive is the perfect example of how the quality of the Vintage has really shown through here and produced an exceptional wine from an estate that already was making very good wines but in 2009 took it one step further.
