Best Buy Iconic Napa Cab from Greatest vintage Ever!?
The 2007 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon vintage is one of the Greatest Ever!
Everyone seems to agree on this point. From the winemakers to the press, 2007 Napa Valley is a very special vintage. Now is it the Greatest to date—that is another ball of wax completely.
In case you have missed some of the commentary regarding the 2007 Napa Valley Cabernet vintage here is a quick summary:
The Wine Spectator originally hailed the vintage at near perfect awarding the vintage as a whole 99 points. Earlier this year the Wine Spectator amended their online vintage Chart to 97 points making 2007 tied for the second highest rated vintage ever by the Wine Spectator.
Robert Parker and the Wine Advocate rated the vintage an overall 96 points making 2007 tied for the highest rated vintage ever by the Wine Advocate.
"2007 is no doubt the greatest vintage for Bordeaux varietals in Napa since 2001 and 2002..." Robert Parker, 12/09 WA.
All in all tremendous accolades for the 2007 vintage.
With most wineries just beginning to release their 2009 vintage or even their 2010 vintages you might be wondering why we are talking about the 2007 vintage again.
It is because it is finally arriving next month: the 2007 Heitz Wine Cellars Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon!
That is right. The straight entry level Cabernet Sauvignon from Heitz is the last Cabernet of theirs released, well after their highly sought after Martha’s Vineyard. Not to mention this may just be the last under $50 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2007 to be released.
This is a wine that we have been waiting for. A classic of Napa Valley from one of the oldest wineries of the valley that clearly is one of Napa Valley’s most Iconic estates. With 50 years under their belt at Heitz this family knows a thing or two about producing Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon.
If you are an avid consumer of high quality Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon then you know that most wines are easily well above $50 per bottle but the Heitz Napa Valley is one of the classics that remains at only $45.99 per bottle. Whether you are die-hard serious collector or an avid consumer this is one wine that we all can load-up on and enjoy over the next several years to come.
