Beyond Sancerre and Pouilly-Fume
Quincy also makes stellar Sauvignon Blancs.
This little zone of the Loire Valley is to the West of Sancerre and Pouilly Fume away from the main river Loire but sandwiched between two smaller rivers. Leading the vineyards of Quincy to have a very similar attributes much like Sancerre and Pouilly-Fume. Today with the boom in the Loire Valley of cleaner cellars and more modern techniques, the wines in Quincy are giving Sancerre and Pouilly-Fume a run for their money. The Villalin Grandes Vignes is easily the finest example of Quincy (pronounced Can-C) that I have tasted in years! John Gilman of a View from the Cellar is right on in his take on this beauty of a wine and if you have been a Sancerre drinker or Pouilly-Fume fan for years then you have to try this.
