Cote de Beaune Joseph Drouhin 2014 (750ML) FR Flag In Stock
Cote de Beaune Joseph Drouhin 2014 (750ML)
"The 2014 Côte de Beaune, not to be confused with the Côte de Beaune Villages, was picked on September 15 and 16, includes some deselected fruit from the Clos des Mouches and was completely destemmed. It has a deep blackberry and raspberry-scented bouquet, a little tight at the moment although I think it will unfurl once in bottle. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp, chalky tannin. It feels a little chunky at the moment, with a pepperiness developing in the glass. Drink over the next 2-3 years..." Neal Martin, The Wine Advocate 12/15 90 Points, John Gilman: "The 2014 Clos des Mouches Blanc had been bottled at the start of September, but seemed to have bounced back into form by November. The hail damage of recent vintages seems to have sapped a touch of the customary energy level of this wine in 2014, but there is still depth, complex and breed in abundance. The nose is forward and very inviting, offering up scents of apple, pear, crème patissière, a touch of almond, chalky soil tones and vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and a touch deeper-pitched than normal (due to the hail no doubt), with a good core, fine focus and grip and a very long, zesty and wide open finish. This will not be as long-lived as customary in 2014, but it will drink very well for the next decade. 2015-2025."
